Cornish Beaches

Cornwall has some fabulous beaches.  I’ve been to a few but certainly not all.  Most of mine have been down on the s0uth coast near Falmouth. But there are plenty more I want to explore around Cornwall.

I’ve listed on this website the ones I’ve visited so far and what I have been drawn to about them. You can get a different atmosphere at different beaches, whether it’s from the number of people spending some time there, the force of the waves or the enclosed space they are coming in to.

I’ve realised coming down to Cornwall that I love the look of beaches and walking round them. But I don’t like sunbathing as much as I thought I did! I do love going into the water though.

Gyllyngvase Beach

Gylly Beach is located in Falmouth and is probably the most popular beach down there.

Castle Beach

This is a rocky beach in Falmouth just next door to Gyllyngvase Beach, near Pendennis Castle.

Swanpool Beach

This is another popular beach down in Falmouth and is next door to the Swanpool Nature Reserve.

Maenporth Beach

This is 5 miles away from Falmouth, further along the coastline. It always seems to have a cooler atmosphere here.

Gwithians Beach

This is on the north coast near Godrevy and can have some dramatic waves crashing in. Surfers love to come here.

Perranporth Beach

This is an extremely long beach on the north coast and has the famous Watering Hole bar right next to it.
